The waitress was a nice girl, but it took her at least 7 minutes to bring my soda... and take my order of 2 sushi rolls. another 7 or 8 minutes later, she brings my salad. Then I sat... and sat, then inquired where my lunch order was. She has no idea. I had enough and told the manager about this, then I left. I will not be back. Terrible service!James Faivre

My boyfriend and I just walked out. We ordered 3 rolls. We werenever told it was going to take over an hourfor our food. I am 30 mins late back from my hour lunch break and didn't even eat lunch. They were still seating people without telling anyone how long the wait would be. We walked out as well as 3 other tables who had been waiting for their food. This was myfirst time going to Sushi Village and I willnever be back again. Completely disappointedwith the service. I have just moved here from Cincinnati, Ohio and love sushi. I read all of the great reviews about your restraunt, but once again I will not be coming back. I'm sure the other 3 couples that walked out will not be either. They were making all the carryout orders before the orders that were for inside.

This is a small restaurant in a strip mall. It is run by Chinese. It is great. The food is prepared right there so you can see it. I do not like sushi, so I eat the other dishes. My son and wife both like the sushi here. They like it better than the big name place just down the road. We get better quality and a cheaper price with better/faster service. Plenty of parking in the lot. Seating is a bit limited. So it is not so good if you have a very large group. If you go, you will like it or love it. Either way you will have a positive experience and return.

Hey!I respect that you are busy so I'll get right to the point. I found your business on Facebook and would like to show you a very unique marketing idea. I imagine you receive requests like this all the time, and at first glance you may not have an interest. Many of my clients felt the same way....at first. But because they gave me just a few minutes of their time...they are seeing more business and a higher bottom line. Now I know this sounds like some vendor's inflated claim but I believe this service can do the same thing for Sushi Village. This has nothing to do with SEO, Google Places or getting high rankings in the search engine. But I can't do it justice by trying to explaining everything in this email. It will just take me a few minutes to fill you in on the details...I know you won't be disappointed. Not only do I promise to respect your time, but I also promise to make this worth your while. At that time, I will be happy to provide specifics, so you know your time will be well spent. I will try to reach back to you in a few days. Hello,I am excited about visiting your restaurant for the first time this Saturday night with my friends.I am strict vegetarian and do not eat any meat or seafood. Most vegetarian sushi can be a bit boring, with some bits of raw carrot or lettuce. I'm always looking at other people's sushi and seeing colorful fruits like mango or delicious sauces, while I eat a pitiful vegetable roll with no sauce.Instead, I have started to order off the regular sushi menu and request no fish, but then I feel I am paying the same price but getting fewer ingredients.I've reviewed your menu and was wondering if you could meet these requests:New York Roll, no salmon, avocado (no extra cost)Mango Roll, no fish (reduce the cost to $5)Please let me know if this would be accetable. Also, can you tell me what is in the clear soup and what the broth is made from?Thank you!Lauren

I visited your Crestwood Blvd. restaurant one evening last week, on the high recommendation of a friend. He was right! BUT, the service was to the point of rude. After my first "round" of sushi and of wine arrived, I saw my waiter (a nice young man who smiled, had direct eye contact with me (very important), and was very articulate) only in passing - even with my finger/hand up a bit. He never even glanced my way. After waiting and waiting - and waiting! - for my second choice of sushi (at another Japanese restaurant, I usually have three different choices) and wine, and getting no response (about 20 minutes), I picked up my book and purse and went to the front and asked for my tab - where my waiter was standing - I told him and the cashier that the sushi and wine were wonderful, but that I was leaving, told them why, then directed my comment directly to my waiter, that I request/suggest (forgotten which word I used) that he not ignore me if I choose to return. He apologized with a smile, but as if it was not a big deal to him.Your food is delicious, and if I DO go back, I will hope that service has improved.I was really put off by the television set being on and so loud (on that awful "The Voice") and asked for a table further away from it - my waiter took me to the far back, across from about 10 very happy, loud women! I opted for an in-between area, but the tv was still quite audible, and intrusive. A table of three up one and across from me spoke loudly to each other, probably to override the tv noise.I was tempted to post this on your FB page, but chose a more private means to communicate my less-than-pleasant experience in such a beautiful setting, where I was seeking both good food, good wine, and calmness - it had been loooong, trying day.Thank you for "listening."

Here is the Alabama rule (off the Internet). Since you do not have a liquor license yet, may I bring my own bottle of wine?Any restaurant licensed to serve alcoholic beverages cannot allow customers to bring their own. Customers have to buy/be served something that is offered by the restaurant.A restaurant that is not licensed to sell alcoholic beverages can allow "brown bagging" and charge a corkage fee at the discretion of the restaurant. That's the Alabama law. However....in my experience, a phone call ahead to the restaurant will often elicit permission to bring a "special" bottle, or allow a group to bring a wine program"Happy" Haynes
